Community

For over 20 years our team has been passionate about increasing the accessibility of services and environments in Manitoba. Supporting seniors and people with disabilities extends past what we do in our work and is woven into our commitment to helping our community members and organizations access the tools and resources they need to thrive.

Enabling Access Inc. is the founder of the Aging in Place Manitoba Coalition created on the principle that all Manitobans should have access to the health and social supports to safely age in place, for as long as they wish or are able. The coalition's mission is to improve public policy and secure funding to support essential services for Manitobans to safely age in place in their homes and communities.

Enabling Access Inc. is an active supporter of Barrier-Free Manitoba, a non-partisan, non-profit, cross-disability initiative. We are also a supporter of Abilities Manitoba, a coalition of agencies who support people with intellectual disabilities and whose joint efforts are shaping our government's equitable policies and laws.

Our 2020 Corporate Giving Campaign was directed to Imaginability, a local non-profit organization that provides day programming to adults with intellectual disabilities. Our donation of a new upright freezer for their growing Food Services Program, which provides low cost meals to individuals with intellectual disabilities, their families, support workers and community seniors, was a welcomed gift. We also donated a new power drop saw to help them in their efforts to create a bowling lane within their day program site.
